You can choose to take a year out during the third year of your course, spending your time working in industry on a placement. This is known as a "sandwich year".

You take your placement in a company of your choice. (Our placement office can help you to find one.) We’ll also help you apply and prepare you for interviews. 

A year working out in industry is a great experience. It will:

• give you a much better idea of the type of work you could be doing once you graduate; and
• improve your job prospects over those who don’t take a sandwich year.
