Kingston University proves popular choice as race for Clearing places gathers pace

Phones at Kingston University's Clearing headquarters have been ringing red hot since lines went live on  A-level results day, with hotline advisers reporting that they had spoken to many high-calibre applicants keen to snap up one of the few remaining course spots. By close of play on A-level results day, approximately 4,500 prospective students had called the hotline and the University had made more than 1,400 offers of degree places.

Chaimaa Sajid Rahimi was casually scrolling through Facebook last summer when a Kingston University piece about Clearing caught her eye. The 21 year old had been all set to study psychology at another university, but was having second thoughts and considering a different route. "Deep down I knew it wasn't what I wanted to do, so when the post about Clearing at Kingston University popped up on my newsfeed I immediately made the call," she explained.

Kingston University's sociology, business economics and nutrition, exercise and health degrees secure 100 per cent National Student Survey satisfaction score

Kingston University's sociology, business economics and nutrition (exercise and health) courses have topped the national leader board for student satisfaction in this year's National Student Survey (NSS). The programmes each received the gold standard 100 per cent satisfaction rating from final year students in the annual survey, which asks for feedback on courses at their institutions.

The star of BBC Three's hit series Bad Education Jack Binstead has praised a group of Kingston University drama students after they produced a touching portrayal of his real life experience as a teenager with brittle bones for a theatre show which debuted at the International Youth Arts Festival (IYAF).
