Overview

Professor Waller is a professor in the university's School of Geography, Geology and the Environment, where he has been based since 1990. His main area of expertise is in palynology - the scientific study of pollen and spores.

His research interests in Quaternary environmental change have seen him investigate such diverse subjects as the Holocene vegetation history of the Sahel, the identification of coppice management through pollen analysis and the Holocene evolution of the East Anglian Fenland and the Romney Marsh area, to name but a few.

He currently teaches students studying biogeography and ecology, as well as Quaternary Science.
