Booking

Getting to Kingston Hill

At the taster event

Do I have to book?

Yes, booking is advised.

If you have already booked, remember to print out your booking confirmation email to make your registration faster on the day.

Can I bring anyone with me?

You are more than welcome to bring up to two guests with you to the taster event. We know how important it is for you to be able to discuss and share your experience of the taster event with friends and family.

Can international/EU students book onto a taster event?

Anyone who has made an application to start at Kingston in 2012 is welcome to attend one of our taster events.

I can’t make any of the taster event dates. Can I still visit the University?

Unfortunately it is not always possible to arrange an official visit outside of the taster event times. Please contact the faculty teaching your course directly to find out if they can arrange a time for you to look round. Alternatively you could visit our Virtual Tour pages online to have a look at the campuses and accommodation or attend one of our student-led campus tours.

Remember that individual visits to the University only allow you to tour the campus and may not provide everything a taster event does. If possible, we recommend that you do try to attend a taster event as they offer the chance to:

  • speak to academic and support staff;
  • gain a great insight into university life from our student ambassadors;
  • attend sessions and get a real feel for where you may choose to study in the future; and
  • take guided tours of the campus and surrounding area.

How do I get to Kingston Hill?

View our travel directions to the University. Remember that the taster event take place across two campuses (Kingston Hill and Penrhyn Road) so you will need to be sure which one you need to travel to on the day.

Is parking easily available?

We have more than 700 parking spaces at the Kingston Hill campus. These will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. You don't need to apply for a permit as all clamping will be lifted for the duration of the event.

Is disabled parking available?

There are a number of disabled parking spaces at both campuses. Please let us know that you will need one in advance so that we can reserve a convenient space for you (contact Lauren Stevens on 020 8417 3264 or email l.stevens@kingston.ac.uk).

What is the timetable for the event?

A timetable will be available shortly with further details.

If you have booked your place online we'll send you a pre-event email with all the details that you'll need, including directions and timings for the day.

Will refreshments be available?

Our FoodStores will be open for the purchase of snacks and meals for breakfast and lunch.

Can I see student accommodation?

Unfortunately student rooms are not available to view at the taster events. We'd love to be able to show you one but unfortunately all our halls are filled to capacity and we have to respect our students' privacy.

However, you will be able to talk to our accommodation team and view a mock room. Read more.

Will I be able to discuss my chosen course with an academic?

If you attend a subject session, you'll have the chance to ask questions at the end. Staff will also be available to talk to.

Will I be able to get advice on finance, accommodation or facilities for disabled students?

Representatives from the following areas will be available to talk to:

  • Accommodation
  • Funding
  • Dyslexia and Disability Support
  • Student Support

Some of the taster events are being held outside of term time. Will I still be able to speak to current students?

Student Ambassadors will be present at all taster events to talk to you about their experiences and answer any questions that you may have. Look out for the 'Ask me booths' around campus as well as the bus tours and the top tips talk.

I am interested in postgraduate study. Will there be someone for me to talk to?

The taster events are aimed at people looking to enter into higher education at an undergraduate level. Please contact the faculty teaching your course for more information on postgraduate study.

Already booked?

Unable to attend?

If you are unable to attend, why not take a look at our Virtual Tour where you can have a look at our campuses and facilities online?

If you would like to visit us in person, come and see us on a Wednesday afternoon to take one of our student-led campus tours.

If you'd like to talk to a Kingston University student about any aspect of life at uni, our students can help on our Ask Us site. They will give you their honest opinion about their experiences – both good and bad!
