Research areas
Find out more here about research that goes on connected with this course and in the Faculty or School where it's taught.
Many academic staff are engaged in a range of research and consultancy activities funded by the Research Councils, the European Union, the government, trade unions and industry. These activities ensure our staff are in touch with the latest industry thinking and bring best practice to your studies.
Research centres
Research in the Faculty is organised into three research centres, which provide focus and encourage the cross-fertilisation of ideas.
The Applied Engineering Research Centre includes the Automotive Engineering Research Group. The group researches a wide range of automotive engineering topics, including:
- vehicle dynamics – suspension and aerodynamics;
- internal combustion engines – computer simulation and experimental testing, combustion process and emissions;
- modelling and simulation of premixed turbulent flames;
- tribology and vibration control;
- modelling and simulation of automotive systems; and
- control systems and measurement systems – embedded systems and real time implementation.
Student research
You may be able to publish any research you undertake on the Kingston University Research and Innovation Reports (KURIR) website. This site gives anyone associated with Kingston University the opportunity to publish articles, which will be permanently available to the academic community.
