User Interaction Design PgDip/MSc

Links with business and industry

Studying this course means you'll have opportunities to be involved with organisations outside the university — you can find out about them here.

Our links with industry provide a practical base for our courses. They also help us to ensure your studies are kept up-to-date and relevant to the workplace.

Industrial advisory panel

We regularly review our courses to make sure that they meet professional and industry needs, both in terms of curriculum and teaching practices.

To ensure input from the major stakeholders, we have set up an advisory panel, including senior academics and senior industry representatives. It takes a strategic role, advising on taught courses and our research portfolio.

Guest speakers

Visiting speakers help give an extra dimension to your studies and an insight into industry. For example, Sarah Burton-Taylor, director of Web Usability, gave a talk on "accessibility audits and usability testing with special needs participants" as part of the Usability Engineering module in November 2007.

Recent dissertation projects have been hosted by GE Smallworld, ProjectPublish and Twitter.
