Choose Kingston's Poetry MA

This MA will provide you with a critical understanding of the poetic tradition of poetry in English, and will enable you to develop your poetic ‘voice’. You will be encouraged to submit your creative work for publication in literary journals and magazines. This course makes full use of the Faculty’s two leading practitioners, Jane Yeh and Siobhan Campbell, and is further augmented by readings from visiting poets.

What will you study?

You will have the opportunity to develop your creative writing skills, specialising in this chosen genre. You will also study literary criticism and theory and will look at the professional elements of writing, such as copy-editing and how to get your work published.
