Dr Tim Linsey

Tim Linsey has 12 years lecturing experience, initially in Geomorphology and then Geographical Information Systems.  During this period he developed CAL packages, online learning and distance learning resources and evaluated the use of Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs).  

In 2000 he was appointed as Head of the Educational Technology Unit at Kingston University and was joint chair of the institutional VLE/MLE project and had responsibility for the academic rollout and implementation of the VLE and staff development linked with the VLE and blended learning.  He was also Joint Manager of the Widening Access and Success: Learning and New Technologies in Higher Education research project (2002-2005), and is currently working with Ann Ooms and Marion Webb on the ‘Rapid Reaction and Response' HEA Pathfinder project. 

He is also a member of the JISC Panel of experts who provide feedback on activities and outcomes from the JISC funded e-learning and Pedagogy Programme, and has previously been a technical editor of Mapping Awareness Magazine. 

He is currently the Head of e-Learning in the Academic Development Centre.  His research interests focus on evaluating the impact of blended learning approaches and models on student learning, including the application of Web 2.0 technologies.
