Accounting and Information Systems MSc: After you graduate

What our graduates say

We don't currently have any graduate profiles for this course, but you can see here what graduates from related courses have gone on to do and how studying at Kingston helped them to achieve their goals.

Name: Jamie Cheung
Course: Accounting and Finance MA
Current position
Assistant management accountant, Haymarket Publishing Limited

"When faced with the choice of either finding a job or pursuing my career in accounts after my first degree, I decided to further my knowledge with an Accounting and Finance MA. This proved to be a very important tool in getting a training contract. I decided to study at Kingston because of the reputation of Kingston Business School and its staff. Fellow students and members of staff were very supportive.

"I am now with Haymarket Publishing in its management accounts department. The vast knowledge and confidence which I gained whilst at Kingston are the foundation of my development as a divisional accountant. I am now working towards my professional qualifications by studying CIMA, so the saying 'life long learning' has its place in my heart! I'm glad I chose Accounting and Finance MA at Kingston Business School."

Name: Helen Metcalf
Course: Accounting and Finance MA
Current position: Senior consultant, FBM Consulting

"I have to say that the Accounting and Finance MA at Kingston Business School really did change my life! Three weeks after I circulated my CV, I found my dream job. I am now with a management consultancy company called FBM Consulting as a senior consultant. FBM specialises in change management and organisation development projects, predominantly in the transport industry. I am based at Canary Wharf, enjoying life, and really glad I took the course. Both the tutors and fellow students were incredibly supportive. I found the course content challenging, but confidence building – and we managed to have a lot of fun too!"

Name: Matthew Spencer
Course: Accounting and Finance MA
Current position: Fixed income analyst, UBS Warburg

"When deciding whether to further my education with a masters, I was offered some advice – what a degree represented to employers ten years ago, a masters does now. This was not my main reason for opting to stay in education, but in hindsight I realise that it should have been.

"From my first phone call to arrange an interview with my present employer, it quickly became apparent that without my Accounting and Finance MA it was very unlikely that such a large investment bank would respond to my application. When the interview came, I elaborated on the knowledge gained at Kingston – my interviewers were particularly impressed with the diversity this qualification contained.

"Naturally the financial sector in which I am now involved demands the ability to gain knowledge of different financial markets, but add this to the accounting base provided with this course and you have made yourself extremely marketable. I would not be holding this position without my Accounting and Finance MA from Kingston and the help and understanding of all the staff there."
