Art Market Appraisal (Professional Practice) MA: After you graduate

Where this course will take you

We expect most graduates from the Art Market Appraisal MA to choose a career within the arts market, possibly working for an auction house, in a gallery or for a collector or arts trader. However, a RICS-qualified arts appraiser may work in a number of contexts, including:

  • assessing the value of objects for probate and other tax purposes;
  • managing property estates and their collections; or
  • working in local and regional auction houses involved in regular sales of furniture and effects.

With the increasing globalisation of the RICS profession, prospects for qualified arts market surveyors are very favourable.
