Child Centred Interprofessional Practice MA: Partners

This course is run in association with the Institute for Child Centred Interprofessional Practice (ICCIP).

ICCIP was set up to help practitioners and members of different professions work together more effectively in the interests of children and young people, both:

• practitioners in education, healthcare, social work, criminal justice and the police; and
• those in the private, voluntary, independent, maintained and third sectors.

It does this through its courses, conferences, research programme and website forum. ICCIP's aims are to:

• work closely with children and young people, families, carers, service users, employers and policy makers;
• respond flexibly and fast to the need for support and stimulation of children and young people and to the views of employers and government;
• enable people in the children's workforce (underpinned by the Every Child Matters agenda 2004) develop their interprofessional skills and experience;
• provide courses at different levels to support life long career progression;
• encourage research focused on evidence-based evaluation and policy; and
• share good practice and information with local authorities and the private, voluntary, independent and third sectors .

Who is involved in ICCIP?

A wide range of people are involved in ICCIP, including individuals and members of:

• Kingston University;
• Kingston University's partner further education colleges;
• the University's nursery;
• Royal Holloway Centre for Abuse and Trauma Studies;
• Local Authority strategic managers;
• Children's Workforce Development Council (CWDC);
• St George's Hospital (Paediatric Department);
• Foetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS) researchers;
• Rose Theatre, Kingston; and
• healthcare, education, social work, youth justice, business and law practitioners.
