Contemporary European Philosophy MA: Course features
What this course offers you
A unique international and multi-lingual approach to the field of contemporary European philosophy, based in two of the most highly respected institutions in the field.
Detailed study of recent influential texts, undertaken as far as possible in the original languages.
A wide range of module options, balanced by a shared central core of texts, concepts and problems.
Modules are taught in both English and French, and the programme offers a rare opportunity to develop the linguistic skills required for detailed work in contemporary European philosophy (although students can choose to write all their coursework in English if they prefer).
The course is taught by an exceptionally large, diverse and versatile group of staff, specialising in various aspects of contemporary European philosophy.
The course is administered by and based in the UK's leading Centre for Research in Modern European Philosophy (CRMEP), which offers MA students a distinctive range of research events and opportunities.
It offers a pathway to related doctoral research at the CRMEP, at Paris 8, or other institutions.
While studying in London and then Paris, students are also encouraged to attend research events at a large number of other institutions, and to draw on the unique collections of the British and French national libraries.
