Electroacoustic Composition MMus: Apply for this course

Before you submit your application, please read through our entry criteria carefully to ensure you meet our requirements.

Below are the mode of attendance and start date options for this course. Please ensure you select the one that you wish to apply for.

If you haven't begun an online application already, you will need to select 'new user' once the form is opened and then set up a username and password. This will allow you to save and come back to your application if you can't complete the application in one go.

Please note: Most students from countries outside the European Union/European Economic Area and classified as overseas fee paying, are not eligible to apply for part-time courses due to UK student visa regulations. We strongly suggest that applicants who require a visa to study in the UK ensure that their application and supporting documentation reach us by the first week of August.

All other applicants should ideally apply before the first week of September, although we may still accept applications after this date.

• Copies of transcripts and certificates which confirm qualifications obtained and pending with the complete breakdown of all subjects studied and marks obtained. These should clearly show the qualification awarded and the final overall grade/mark. If they are not in English, we will also require copies translated into English by an authorised translator.
• A personal statement of at least 500 words which should outline your reasons for applying for the course.

Please note that the processing of your application will be delayed if the above documents are not supplied and if we do not receive these documents in good time your application may be withdrawn.

Please ensure that you quote your name, Kingston ID and course applied for in all correspondence with Kingston University.

We will also require the following pieces of information to allow us to confirm your place on the course. These can be forwarded to us after you have submitted your application:

• If English is not your first language we will require proof of your proficiency, which will generally be either an IELTS or TOEFL test certificate. If you do not hold a formal English language qualification, please indicate how you have acquired your proficiency in written and spoken English. See postgraduate English language requirements.
  
• Two references, at least one of which should be an academic reference (eg a college/university tutor or course director). If you left higher education several years ago, please request a reference from a professional who can comment on your suitability for the course you have applied for.

Please note: upon applying online and provided that you have supplied the (correct) email address of the referees, the system will automatically notify the referees that they need to supply a reference for you.

We will, however be unable to contact your referees again after this automatic notification, as it is the applicant's responsibility to ensure that we obtain the letters of references. Emails from the referees' work email accounts will be accepted and can be addressed to fasspostgrad-info@kingston.ac.uk.

If you have already obtained letters of reference, you are welcome to scan them and attach them to the online application; in this case, please leave the email address of your referees blank on the application, so they will not be asked to write references again!
