What this course offers you

The Environmental Law and Sustainability LLM will enable you to meet the challenges of the commercial client by acquiring advanced legal knowledge, as well as practical skills and techniques, in a range of key business areas.

During this degree you will acquire significant research and analytical skills. The course is designed to help you broaden your experience, increase your practising options and significantly enhance your career.

Broaden your knowledge with interdisciplinary study

In addition to the core modules of this masters course, you can study modules in other faculties which will enhance your knowledge of different aspects of sustainability further. There is also the opportunity to undertake an internship, which will provide you with invaluable first-hand experience and insight in how these issues translate in an organisation.

There is also the Sustainability Hub which offers plenty of opportunities to get involved and use your knowledge and insight straight away at Kingston University, and with the wider community. Here you can volunteer and interact with other students and staff with shared interests – and broaden your knowledge through their experience and expertise.

Flexible studying

An extensive choice of elective modules and your dissertation enables you to focus in-depth on a specific area or issue, allowing you to tailor your studies to your career and aspirations. In addition the course is delivered in a flexible format, so you can choose a full or part-time programme according to what suits you best.

Competitions – enhancing your skills

Kingston Law School offers huge opportunities to students to develop their practical legal skills and make them stand out in the jobs market. We encourage students to take part in in-house, national and international competitions in client interviewing, mediation and mooting. Kingston's Quest scheme gives special awards on graduation to Kingston Law School students who take on extra activities and responsibilities during their degree programme to enhance their career opportunities.

Excellent resources, excellent location

Kingston Law School provides a supportive study environment with excellent facilities and access to a wide range of electronic study materials – on campus or off. The University's London location provides both a peaceful study setting and easy access to the city centre.

You will be studying some of the time in the Kingston Business School Building which received a Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) rating of 'excellent', the second highest rating available.
