European Art Practice MA: Course features

What this course offers you

If you choose to study this course, here are some of the things you can expect from the course and how it will benefit you.

  • The new European Art Practice MA prepares you to work as a professional artist in Europe. It is specially designed for fine art and curation practitioners who want to gain the practical, theoretical and organisational skills needed to work in this context.
  • The course combines practical projects with theoretical study and networking.
  • Although it is based at Kingston, you also undertake a placement and exhibition project at a leading contemporary artists' institution in Rotterdam.
  • Many members of staff are professional practitioners, which keeps your learning cutting-edge (read more in the Research areas section).
  • Alongside your arts practice studies, you develop workplace skills in:
    • problem solving and organisation;
    • data collation, review and synopsis;
    • communication (oral, written and electronic);
    • time management;
    • computing; and
    • co-operation and teamwork.
  • We offer a part-time study option to help you fit your MA around other commitments.
