Staff teaching on this course
Dr Konstantinos Danas
Title: Senior lecturer and field leader for Health Information Management MSc
Specialist subjects: After graduating from City University, London, Kostas worked as a consultant focusing on the implementation of integrated information systems in SMEs. He has taught information systems management and strategy, focusing his research interests in health informatics, logistics information systems and healthcare logistics and publishing his work in international journals.
Since joining Kingston University his teaching has focused on information systems strategy and e-business/healthcare information strategy. Recent research activities are in the area of health informatics. Kostas is also appointed as a visiting fellow at the Centre for Health Informatics, City University, London and as an honorary lecturer at St George's Medical School, University of London.
"My vision for this MSc course is to produce graduates who will be able to effectively manage projects related to health informatics and eventually become leaders (chief information officers) in healthcare organisations. Our students will be able to bridge the culture gap between people working in healthcare organisations and therefore provide more effective informatics solutions.
"Students should expect to attend guest lectures by healthcare professionals and be exposed to the outcomes of research projects organised and run by the department's health informatics research collaboration group. This way they will have the opportunity to get an understanding about the future developments in health informatics and become well prepared to face future challenges."
