International Business Management MSc: What our students say

Student profiles

Don't just take our word for it – here's what some of our current and recent students say about what it's like to study at Kingston.

"I am an international student from Thailand. I chose to study at Kingston University because of its good reputation in business management and marketing, and also because it offers modules in areas I'm really interested in, such as entrepreneurship and consultancy practice.

"Before I applied I came to see the University – one of my friends who was already studying here took me round Kingston Hill campus. She said she really enjoyed studying at Kingston and that the quality of teaching was outstanding. I was also impressed by the modern facilities at the campus. Now I'm a student here myself, I quite agree with her views on the teaching quality.

"I enjoyed the entrepreneurship and marketing subjects the most I think – rather than just studying the theory, they had a practical side that brought out our creativity. For example, a group of us created a new product and made a sale pitch as if we were on the Dragon's Den TV programme, which was a fun and unforgettable experience. I believe the course will help me to embark on my dream career in international business and investment.

"If you're an international student who has never been to the UK before, I'd recommend taking a pre-sessional English language course before starting your academic studies. As English is my second language, I found I needed to put in lots of hard work to pass the course.

"I'd also suggest giving yourself time to adapt to a new environment and English culture before your course starts, which will make your student life in the UK much easier and more enjoyable."

Business Management MA*

*now discontinued but very similar to the International Business Management MSc

"I am an international student from Macau in China. In my pre-Business Management MA* days, I remember hoping for promotions at work and the benefits that would bring. Nevertheless, no matter how hard I tried, my employers always recruited the senior management positions from the outside. Feeling disappointed, I decided to enhance my professional competitive advantages by further developing my education.

"After considering a number of universities in England, I found that the Business Management MA* course offered at Kingston Business School was ideal for me. The course content was an interesting mix – not only did I increase my knowledge considerably in a number of areas such as human resources, finance and marketing, but also in personal and professional development aspects, which I found very useful to my future career.

"I've gained a number of valuable learning experiences, which have enhanced not only my educational background, but also my personal and professional attitude and behaviour. I'm confident that these experiences will increase my competitiveness in the business field after my graduation.

"All in all, I have found the course to be very enjoyable and would highly recommend it to anyone thinking about a career in management."
