Name: Alana Neemar-Aleung
Course: International Human Resource Management masters (part time)
Alana is from Trindad and the recipient of a Kingston University international scholarship.
"The international scholarship from Kingston University has helped my dreams become a reality. Studying part time for my undergraduate degree whilst also working full time was a tough challenge for me, but I knew I wanted to go on to gain a masters as well.
"I'd always heard about the high standards of UK universities and, after researching different options, decided that Kingston University would be the most suitable. I then applied for and accepted a place on the programme, but the exchange rate of my home currency (Trinidad) started to push the masters beyond my reach.
"When I received an invitation from the International Development Office to apply for a scholarship, I regained my enthusiasm knowing that there was a chance that I could win it. In July 2007 I received an email letting me know that I was a recipient and I realised that my dream had now become a reality.
"At the end of my studies I will return to Trinidad and help develop the human resource profession, bringing back world-class knowledge and life-long friendships. Thank you Kingston!"
