CIPS visit
In addition to the Faculty's skilled team of academics, the course includes lectures by distinguished visiting professors and input from professional organisations. For example, in March 2008 students attended a presentation organised by the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) at the prestigious surroundings of the Shell head office in London.
The event provided students with the opportunity to meet industry professionals and business leaders. The presentation focused on issues relating to assessing and measuring the 'carbon footprint' and was followed by an informative question and answer session.
The evening ended with a networking session with other CIPS members and a chance to catch up on the latest trends in supply chain management.
Students on the Supply Chain and Logistics Management MA programme automatically qualify as members of the Institute when they have had three years managerial experience in areas relating to supply chain or logistics (read more in the Recognition and accreditation section).
Our successful Strategy into Practice seminar series, which has been running for many years, is designed to give you the opportunity to gain experience of strategy within major enterprises. You will hear first-hand accounts, from top managers, on the management of complex international organisations, promoting innovation and creativity, instituting cultural change and managing growth.
You will have the opportunity to ask questions and to network after each session with academic staff and local business leaders. These seminars are open to external attendees, alumni and students.
The Entrepreneurship Experience
At Kingston Business School we are committed to helping students, staff and alumni, as well as external organisations in the region, to develop their entrepreneurial potential. To achieve this we run a series of Entrepreneurship Experience seminars, bringing high profile guest speakers in to present on their personal experiences. We help people to improve their skills and learn how to develop opportunities into viable projects and enterprises.
If you would like to gain a more in-depth knowledge of an aspect of business or law practice through our ongoing research at the Business School and Law School, then one of our research seminars might help you. These events are taken by a speaker from one of the Schools and aim to share our knowledge, discoveries, research best practice and new research methods.
Guest lectures and seminars
Throughout the year guest speakers from various institutions/businesses are invited in to present at special guest lectures and seminars. These are open to all Business School students.
