How we work with our partners in business
Kingston Business School works closely with the business world's principal professional bodies in order to harmonise its education provision with the needs of today's business practitioners. You will learn how to turn theory into practice and gain a qualification that has real value in the real world.
We enjoy recognition or accreditation from:
- Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development;
- Association of MBAs;
- Chartered Management Institute;
- Chartered Institute of Marketing;
- Market Research Society;
- Institute of Direct Marketing;
- The Law Society; and
- various accounting professional bodies (partial).
We also offer courses in partnership with both private and public sector specialists such as Capita Learning and Development, Communicators in Business, and the National School of Government.
The Consultancy Project
The Consultancy Project (part of the Consultancy Practice module) is an opportunity to link business theory with practice through a live project. You will work in a small group on a real assignment which will use and develop your knowledge and skills. During the Project you will conduct internal and external research concluding with a confidential written report which is presentation to the sponsoring company.
The brief is determined and agreed with the client company, to ensure it fulfils the aims of both the company and the course.
Linking with other outside organisations
You may be able to tailor your studies to link directly to an organisation or field in which you are interested through your MSc/MA dissertation. This requires a substantial piece of independent work investigating a real business issue and resulting in recommendations which have immediately applicable managerial implications.
Our successful Strategy into Practice seminar series, which has been running for many years, is designed to give you the opportunity to gain experience of strategy within major enterprises. You will hear first-hand accounts, from top managers, on the management of complex international organisations, promoting innovation and creativity, instituting cultural change and managing growth.
You will have the opportunity to ask questions and to network after each session with academic staff and local business leaders. These seminars are open to external attendees, alumni and students.
