Law with English LLM: Entry requirements

What you need to apply for this course

This programme is open to those who possess one of the following:

a good honours degree in law (usually a 2:2 degree or above), OR a good joint honours degree (2:2 or above) where the major component is in law, eg Accounting and Law or Combined Studies
a Graduate Diploma in Law (CPE), Legal Practice Course or Bar Vocational Course
a qualification as a solicitor or barrister

International students

All non-UK applicants must meet our English language requirements. For this course it is Academic IELTS of 6.0 overall, with no element below 5.5. Please make sure you read our full guidance about English language requirements, which includes details of other qualifications we'll consider.

Applicants who do not meet the English language requirements may be eligible to join our pre-sessional English language course.

Applicants from one of the recognised Majority English Speaking Countries (MESCs) do not need to meet these requirements.
