Competitions and events

Events are an integral and exciting part of this course. These include:

  • a start-up weekend at the beginning of the course;
  • taking part in a ‘Hackathon', where you will learn to solve problems creatively in partnership with local charities;
  • field trips to see small and medium-sized businesses;
  • 'Dragons' Den' events where students pitch their ideas to real investors; and
  • 'Celebrate Enterprise' in which student teams demonstrate their innovations and business ideas to the general public.

Students on this course have had visits from a wide range of industry experts including David Cameron's Enterprise Adviser Lord Young.
