David Knull

David Knull: "a transformational experience"

Course: MBA
Current position: managing director of SanoSync

"Without reservation, I can say that the Kingston Business School MBA has served as a transformational experience to both my professional and personal life. Not only did the MBA provide a rigorous and comprehensive curriculum, but most importantly it has been the extremely valuable network of peers and professors that have helped give rise to my current success. Kingston Business School, through its superior professors, excellent resources, and location in one of the premier business cities in the world, provides an exceptional platform to facilitate the next iteration in one's professional development.

My decision to choose the Kingston Business School MBA was driven by my understanding of its established reputation, strong return on investment, and critically, its access to London. It is the cosmopolitan and pluralistic environment of London which Kingston Business School exemplifies. This creates an excellent opportunity to develop the type of relationships that can help propel your business career. Having moved to London for the first time only months before beginning the course, in only two years I have successfully leveraged the contacts I made at Kingston Business School to help found, with other Kingston Business School MBA graduates, a burgeoning SME in London."

Hong Le

Hong Le: "New business mind set and a stronger self-belief"

Course: MBA

"Before coming to Kingston, I had been working in different brand management roles for Nestlé and Unilever. As I wanted to advance my career and improve my lacking skills, I decided to move forward with an MBA. Kingston MBA suited me in different ways.

The Business School is located in London which allowed easy access to real-world business. Small class sizes meant our cohort could have good interaction with each other and easily draw on the resources from the School. Also, a good combination of the business modules has helped transform me significantly after the course. With the new business mindset and a stronger self belief, I am not limiting myself only to brand management but aiming at a general management role in five years' time."

Yasir Al-Azzawi

Yasir Al-Azzawi: "A valuable experience and a great medium for personal and professional development"

Course: MBA

"The Kingston MBA was a challenging and enjoyable experience. I chose Kingston Business School for various reasons; however the most important of these was its calibre as a triple AMBA-accredited business school. Other reasons that weighed on my mind were the strength of the teaching staff, the content of the course and as a result, the value for money that Kingston University provides.

In doing the full-time MBA, I spent most of the year in class and the library, with classmates of diverse backgrounds with varying levels of experience from different industries and roles. This enabled greater dynamics in class discussions and new perspectives to be considered by all, which gave individuals a chance to develop their understanding of business outside of their comfort zones and become more well rounded overall.

Having now completed my course I reflect on what I believe to be a very valuable learning experience, which really has changed the way I approach business problems. In addition to further developing existing strengths, I discovered new interests and strengths I dared not explore prior to the course. One example is my new found interest in finance and all matters finance related. Prior to the MBA I actively avoided finance in all forms, assuming it was a weakness. The MBA genuinely enabled me to tackle assumed weaknesses in a non-threatening environment with like- minded individuals and turn them into new found strengths and interests.

An MBA is not for everyone, however for those interested in business who thrive on challenging and developing themselves, I would highly recommend the Kingston MBA as a valuable experience and a great medium for personal and professional development. I am grateful for the support and patience of the teaching and administrative staff in seeing us through and for the opportunity to meet new and interesting people from all over the world."

Ruth Hou: "I know that I would not be where I am now without the MBA"

Course: MBA
Current position: SMILE project manager, UCL Advances, University College London

"I studied the Masters of Business Administration (MBA) at Kingston, finishing in February 2010.

I'm not going to lie, it was a difficult year but I made lifelong friendships with classmates and lecturers and I know that I would not be where I am now without the MBA. Directly because of my studies, I am now running a project that is connecting high-growth SMEs in London with business mentors to help them overcome their challenges and obstacles to growth. It has been a whirlwind but highly rewarding as I get to directly help businesses analyse their business models and much more (all drawing on some key MBA knowledge and skills) while connecting them to industry experts who help drive their businesses forward. I can say that my MBA was the most relevant year of my life thus far."
