Master of Business Administration MBA: Learning support

How we can support you

Kingston Business School's supportive study environment helps you achieve your academic and career goals.

Academic support

  • Dedicated support from a personal academic supervisor, who will guide you through your research project and dissertation, with subject tutors to provide guidance on specific modules. The course director and course administrator can help with general academic and administrative issues and the student liaison office can help with any other issues.
  • Kingston's innovative online learning system makes flexible learning easier and means you can communicate with staff and course colleagues easily.
  • We give you the basic text books you need for the course, and supplement them with an extremely well-stocked library with thousands of journal subscriptions. You can access all the electronic materials in the library remotely with your student login, making it easy to study at home.
  • Interactive and collaborative teaching delivered through a combination of classroom sessions, workshops and seminars, facilitating debate and interaction. Our staff are experts in both academia and industry, and our international student community gives you access to the kind of know-how and perspective you need in international business.
  • Extensive modern facilities providing everything you need to study effectively - and enjoy the experience.
  • The Business and Law Academic Skills Service can help you with your written English, grammar, presentation, structure and referencing, and gives specific help to international students. There is also a confidential one-to-one service to help improve the quality of writing in universities.
  • International students can access plenty of language support, both before and during the course –  we offer a pre-sessional English language course and an English language development programme.

Personal support

  • A dedicated MBA careers coach helps each student to build on their strengths and position themselves in the market. You will be placed in mock recruitment and internal promotion interview situations, administered by real consultants. The Leadership and Personal Development module charts and guides your growth throughout the MBA.
  • The University's student support services offer advice and guidance on a wide range of subjects from finance, accommodation and healthcare to sports and fitness, as well as a careers and employability service.
  • Kingston Business School promotes peer group support by encouraging students to form small, informal groups that can meet outside the classroom.
