Mechanical Engineering MSc: Entry requirements
What you need to apply for this course
- Good honours degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers in partial fulfilment of the academic requirements for Chartered Engineer status, and/or suitable industrial experience.
- We will consider applicants not requiring Matching Section under SARTOR 3 but interested in advanced study at MSc level on an individual basis. Typically these applicants must have a relevant good honours level degree and/or industrial experience.
- Matching Section MSc graduates who have not completed a CEng accredited BEng(Hons) degree will not automatically satisfy our educational requirements for full CEng status. However, we will consider all matching section MSc graduates for CEng status on an individual basis.
International students
All non-UK applicants must meet our English language requirements. For this course it is Academic IELTS of 6.5 overall, with special conditions in all elements. Please make sure you read our full guidance about English language requirements, which includes details of other qualifications we'll consider.
Applicants who do not meet the English language requirements may be eligible to join our pre-sessional English language course.
Applicants from one of the recognised Majority English Speaking Countries (MESCs) do not need to meet these requirements.
