Don't just take our word for it – here's what students say about what it's like to study at Kingston University.
Name: Ali Athab Alkinani
Course: Pharmaceutical Analysis MSc
"I chose this course because it is very competitive and full of challenges. I believe it is one of the best courses in pharmaceutical analysis in the UK.
"The staff reputation is another reason that encouraged me to choose the course, and it was also recommended by a friend who had finished his MSc and PhD at Kingston University.
"The knowledge that I've gained from the course, the great experiences that I've had, the wonderful staff that I've met with – have all been good. The lovely friends that I've made, from all different backgrounds, made it one of the most enjoyable courses that I've ever studied on.
"The teaching of the course was great. I learnt a lot here – the teaching was challenging, I really enjoyed the lectures, and the staff were more than magnificent.
"The facilities at Kingston University are magnificent, starting from the teaching classroom – the modern John Galsworthy building. We had great labs on campus and the LRC contains all the resources that any student would need.
"There were two field trips during my study. The first one was to LGC, which is a leading analysis lab in the UK and also in Europe. The second trip was to the Fisher Scientific Exhibition. On this trip, I had the chance to have a look at the latest technology and newest instruments that are used in analysis.
"The town of Kingston is really wonderful place to live in – the people are so nice and helpful; daily needs are available in the town; and everything that I need as an international student is available. The nature of the town is really wonderful – being on the Thames has a great effect on the town. The town itself is a little bit outside central London, which made Kingston a very good place to study in.
"One of the people who encouraged me to study in the UK was my father, who is a UK graduate. He finished his MSc and PhD at Dundee University and, because of the good experience he had and the knowledge he gained, he encouraged me to finish my MSc in the UK. The nature of the British people is wonderful and no matter what I say I can't explain it! I really, really enjoyed being here. The other thing that has helped me as an international student is the information that the University provided about arriving in the UK – it was really helpful.
"There are a lot of things that make Kingston University special to me – the teaching environment and the great staff; the relationship between students and staff; the new friendships that I made during the course; and finally the new knowledge that I gained, which will help me a lot in finding a good career after graduation."
