Production Design for Film and Television MA: Course features

What this course offers you

If you choose to study this course, here are some of the things you can expect from the course and how it will benefit you.

  • This course is designed to develop the traditional and technological skills needed for entry into the production design industry. It also encourages you to challenge established conventions in your work.
  • Your Major Project allows you to focus on your own interests, culminating in an exhibition presentation.
  • Studio and location visits will supplement your lectures and seminars, adding an extra perspective to your learning. While there are no formal work placements offered as part of the course, we will give you career advice and where possible help you arrange your own placements to be undertaken on completion of the MA.
  • Many members of staff are professional designers, which keeps our teaching cutting-edge (read more in the Who teaches this course? section).
  • Alongside your academic studies, you develop workplace skills in:
    • problem solving and organisation;
    • time management; and
    • co-operation and teamwork.
