• Applicants should have a good BA(Hons) degree or equivalent qualification in a related arts subject, such as architecture, fine art, interior design or theatre design.
• We also welcome applicants with relevant professional experience.

Portfolio requirements

You will be asked to submit an online portfolio as part of the application process. This should demonstrate a high level of art and design skills together with original creativity but will vary according to the individual applicant.

Portfolios can include a range of work from drawings and paintings or models produced by hand to computer generated images .

Work demonstrating the use of one or more key computer programmes including Photoshop, Sketch-Up, CAD and 3D Studio Max is encouraged. Your portfolio can also include other evidence of creativity such as photographs and sketches.

Prior learning - AP(E)L

Applicants with prior qualifications and learning may be exempt from appropriate parts of a course in accordance with the University's policy for the assessment of prior learning and prior experiential learning. Contact the faculty office for further information.

All non-UK applicants must meet our English language requirements. For this course it is Academic IELTS of 6.5 overall, with special conditions in all elements. Please make sure you read our full guidance about English language requirements, which includes details of other qualifications we'll consider.

Applicants who do not meet the English language requirements may be eligible to join our pre-sessional English language course.

Applicants from one of the recognised Majority English Speaking Countries (MESCs) do not need to meet these requirements.
