The course is offered by the School of Surveying & Planning which is also home to C-SCAIPE (Centre for Sustainable Communities Achieved through Integrated Professional Education) which provides a distinctive study environment. C-SCAIPE also undertakes research which is dedicated to encouraging an ethos of responsibility and professional ethics and multidisciplinary education within the built environment.
C-SCAIPE was set up as one of 74 government-funded Centres for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL). It is the only one that combines sustainability and the built environment.
C-SCAIPE enables graduates from Kingston studying on professional courses to develop a deeper understanding of sustainability – vital for shaping the communities of the future.
