Sustainable Environmental Development with Management Studies MSc: Attendance and timetables
When does teaching take place?
Sustainable Environmental Development modules
The Sustainable Environmental Development part of the course (field) is taught either:
- full-time – one year, two full days per week; or
- part-time – two years, one full day per week.
Each taught module consists of approximately 44 hours.This is backed up by a further 100 hours of self-managed study.
Management Studies modules
Management Studies modules are run primarily by distance learning. This consists of self-managed open learning texts via Blackboard from the Diploma in Management Studies (DMS) programme.
Typically, you are in formal lectures/tutorials for around 15 hours per module, with up to 120 hours allotted for open learning. Lectures/tutorials typically take place on two or three weekends throughout the semester(s).
MSc project
The MSc project is equivalent to four modules:
- Full-time students complete eight modules between September and May and submit the research project in September
- Part-time students complete four modules in each year of study and submit the research project in September of the second year
