What will you study?
The Translation Studies MA offers top-level translator training based on three main languages (English, French and Spanish). It is designed to:
- provide you with confidence and competence in the professional practice of translation from and into these languages;
- help you gain a better understanding of the main concepts and approaches in the discipline of translation studies, and their practical implementation; and
- to equip you with essential transferable skills, such as planning and carrying out academic research, developing analytical and critical thought, and making an efficient use of resources.
The course includes a professional development component, translation theory modules, institutional translation and the possibility of learning a third language, in accordance with the guidelines proposed by the European Commission's Directorate General for Translation.
It also offers a wide range of optional modules which will make it possible for you to specialise in your areas of interest (technical, business, legal, institutional, medical and literary).
