Accreditation
Professional bodies accredit many of our programmes, including:
- the British Computer Society;
- the British Psychological Society;
- the JBM (Joint Board of Moderators), which includes the Institution of Civil Engineers, the Institution of Structural Engineers, the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation, and the Institute of Highway Incorporated Engineers;
- Institution of Mechanical Engineering, the Royal Aeronautical Society and the Institution of Engineering and Technology;
- the Chartered Institute of Building and the Institution of Civil Engineers;
- the Institution of Mathematics and its Applications and the Institution of Actuaries (in progress);
- the Institute of Biomedical Science;
- the Architects Registration Board, the Royal Institute of British Architects and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors; and
- the Solicitors Regulation Authority and the Institute of Legal Executives.
The Kingston DBA is one of the first DBA programmes to be accredited by the Association of MBAs (AMBA).
Industry advisers
Many of our courses are developed with input from industry professionals. For example, the advisory board for the Publishing MA includes representatives from industry leaders such as Harper Collins, Penguin and Waterstones.
Real-world projects
Many programmes include projects based on workplace problems. Past examples have included:
- designing a music school in Brussels and a gallery in Oporto on the Architecture diploma course;
- improving end-to-end customer care at Vodafone in the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Computing; and
- developing a new aerodynamic package for the Formula Jedi in the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Computing.
