- HEFCE-funding of £4 million for a teaching alliance with St George's, University of London and Royal Holloway, University of London;
- a Government award of £3 million to set up C-SCAIPE (the Centre for Sustainable Communities Achieved Through Integrated Professional Education), recognising existing excellence in teaching and learning in the School of Surveying; and
