Overview
A qualified nurse, Chris Tye joined Kingston University and St George's University, London, in 1995 and is now joint head of the School of Nursing. His role encompasses being Head of Acute Care Nursing and Associate Dean for postgraduate programmes and he has joint responsibility with the other Head of School for the leadership and management of all academic staff within the School.
The majority of his clinical experience was gained in acute and critical care settings, particularly within major A&E departments, during which time he progressed from staff nurse to clinical nurse manager level. He has written extensively on the role of the emergency nurse practitioner in A&E and is a reviewer for the International Journal of Nursing Studies and the Journal of Interprofessional Care.
