Overview
Dr Fatima Maria Felisberti is a neuroscientist whose research focuses on face and emotion processing, social cognition, and evolutionary psychology. She is interested in behaviour, both in terms of how neurones react to environmental stimuli right through to how humans behave during social interactions.
Ultimately her research aims to develop a more integrated view of human behaviour. To this end she is currently developing a number of multidisciplinary projects in an attempt to uncover complex behaviours related to the recognition of one's own face, visual memory in social contexts, the cognitive effects of parental investment in emotion perception, and the effect of symmetry in human attraction.
Fatima is an ad hoc referee for the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and for a number of scientific journals, among them the Journal of Experimental Child Psychology, Psychology & Neuroscience, Acta Psychologica, and Human Evolution.
