Graduate Research School

The Graduate Research School (GRS) provides advice and guidance to postgraduate research students, academic staff and faculty administrators on regulatory matters, and is responsible for the generic research student training programme. The GRS works with colleagues across the University to ensure that research students' interests are represented; to introduce new initiatives to all aspects of postgraduate research activities; and provide advice and guidance on regulations. 


The Graduate Research School support staff sit within the University's Research Support Office.

  • Responsible for ensuring the University's regulations, policies and procedures for research students are in line with national standards and developments in research student provision.
  • Liaises with faculties in relation to their research student activity.
  • Acts as the University's liaison point for the Research Council and other funded studentships.
  • Provides guidance to faculties and students regarding regulations and examination procedures.
