The widening participation unit delivers a range of projects, events and activities designed to increase the participation, attainment and success of individuals from groups under-represented in higher education.
Jenni leads the team and is responsible for developing widening participation strategies, the University's access agreement with the Office for Fair Access (OFFA) and reporting to external regulators on our progress against WP targets.

The Education Liaison team co-ordinates Kingston University's contact with primary schools, secondary schools and colleges.
James oversees all of our schools and colleges outreach work and has overall responsibility for evaluating and monitoring the impact of our work.

Mark is responsible for Key Stage 2 and 3 outreach activities, our work in art & design and humanities and social sciences. Mark also runs activities for learners with disabilities and those in local authority care.

Lisa coordinates the Kingston branch of the National Science and Engineering Saturday Club. She organises our labs in lorries and our STEM outreach centre (expected September 2016). Lisa also works with Ben on general STEM outreach.

Kingston University's Compact Scheme offers an enhanced package of information, advice and guidance to prospective and current students from particular backgrounds, including those who are the first in their family to go to university, have a low household income or are entering higher education as a mature learner. The KU Cares programme is an extension of the Compact Scheme and offers specific and tailored support for care experienced learners and young adult carers from enquiry through to graduation.
Kelly has leadership responsibility for the Compact Scheme and associated activities and events, including the Head Start Summer School which aims to help prepare Compact Scheme students for starting university.

The Student Ambassador scheme is integral to all of our widening participation work, with many of our ambassadors coming from non-traditional backgrounds themselves.
