Student designing t shirtYour Future is a motivational programme that helps Year 10 students understand more about their skills and encourages them to make positive decisions about their future.

Students will take part in three campus-based workshops that will address questions such as 'what am I interested in?', 'what are my strengths?' and 'where would I like to be in five years' time?' The activities are also designed to boost confidence amongst the young people and to give them the opportunity to find out more about university through interaction with our student ambassadors.

Activity outline

  • Session 1 (Us): A range of team building and icebreaker activities, plus finding out more about the programme and the student ambassadors.
  • Session 2 (Me): This session focuses on a skills carousel in which students find out more about their areas of strength and interest, which are then linked to possible courses and careers.
  • Session 3 (Future): The final session looks at the future including more information about university, as well as a research and target setting exercise.
