Student Ambassadors
Here at Kingston University we have a team of around 80 Student Ambassadors who support the Recruitment and Outreach team's activities.
About our Student Ambassadors
The Student Ambassadors are current undergraduate and postgraduate students studying at the University. We recruit across all faculties, courses, ethnic groups and fee statuses (ie both home and international). This ensures that the Ambassadors reflect the diverse population of the University, as well as the pupils we work with in schools and colleges.
We put the ambassadors through a rigorous recruitment process. Once selected, we provide full training in working with young people and a CRB check. The main objective for each Student Ambassador is to share their student experience. They do this through a variety of ways, including:
- communicating with prospective students at HE fairs and open days;
- publishing advice, blogs and videos on Ask Us, our site which enables prospective students to ask our students about studying at Kingston and university life; and
- visiting schools and colleges with the Education Liaison team and contributing to:
- Student Ambassador talks – presentations for HE and futures days, providing a student's perspective of life at university;
- Ambassadors in Schools – a longer programme which runs over three sessions during an academic year and brings undergraduate students together with pupils from local school and colleges;
- KU+ME – GCSE English and Maths revision projects for students on a C/D borderline;
- Money Doctors – a programme focused on economic capability, this gives the student a glimpse into the financial side of university life; and
- Study Skills – an opportunity for level 3 students to find out about academic expectations and prepare them for their future studies.

What the students say...
"Being a student ambassador has been a huge part of my degree – not only have I gained invaluable skills that I wouldn’t have necessarily picked up on my course but I have also made some great friends along the way."
