Kingston University helped to champion local companies as a sponsor and judge at the inaugural Kingston Business Awards on 25 November.
The awards, run by South London Business, were developed to reward and celebrate the many innovative and hard working companies in the borough.
Over 200 guests attended the event at the Holiday Inn, Surbiton and winners included a range of business types and sizes from Imagine Florist, which won the Best Retail Business Award, to the Rose Theatre which won the Best Commitment to the Community Award.
Kingston’s Enterprise Support department visited all shortlisted contenders in the Best Business for Training and Development category and selected Malcolm Johnson & Co. Solicitors as the winner.
Deborah Lock, Executive Director of Enterprise Support said; "This was a great opportunity for the University to meet with local employers and to understand their approach to investment in the training and development of their staff.
The winning organisation was particularly impressive because they really understand the importance of training, are genuinely interested in developing their employees and make a clear link between well trained staff and offering the best possible service to clients."
