An exciting opportunity to learn the traditional methods of bronze casting.
This five-day course introduces you to the bronze casting process. You will have an extensive week of practical workshops which will teach you how to transform your own creations into permanent bronze sculptures. You will see the alchemy of the metal being poured and learn the metalwork and finishing skills required to create a bronze sculpture.
Please note: work is messy, so please dress appropriately and wear sensible shoes (ie no sandals or high heels).
A bronze sculpture.
A pre-prepared item made out of anything that burns easily, i.e. wax, balsa (light) wood, foamboard, string, wool, cardboard, etc. Not plastic, plasticine or hardwood. A maximum size of 10" x 4" x 4" which you will take away to finish.
