Green light for new sports hall at Kingston University's Kingston Hill campus

Kingston University has been given the green light to create a sustainable sports hall at its Kingston Hill campus, providing new indoor sporting facilities for students. Councillors on the Malden and Coombe neighbourhood committee approved the proposals for the new building at a meeting on 7 July. Catering for a range of sports including netball, badminton, basketball and five-a-side football, it will become a central hub for the University's indoor students' sports clubs.

Endurance runner Susie Chan enters Guinness World Records' books after verification of 12-hour treadmill distance set at Kingston University

Ultra runner Susie Chan has officially entered the record books after her 12-hour treadmill attempt at Kingston University was verified by Guinness World Records. The 40 year old, who was supported by a team of sport science and exercise experts in the University's human performance laboratory, set a new women's world record for greatest distance run on a treadmill in 12 hours on 30 January.

Each year Kingston University's best athletes are selected onto the Sports Performance Programme which assists our talented sports people to balance their sporting and academic commitments. This year's successful applicants were announced at an awards ceremony with special guest, former Paralympic medal winner and TV presenter, Ade Adepitan.
