Dr Adam Baker

Senior Lecturer, Space Engineering & Technology

About

Dr. Adam Baker has a PhD in Materials Science and an M Eng in Materials Engineering from the University of Oxford, and a Diploma in Space System Engineering from Delft University, as well as a PGCTLHE from Kingston. Dr. Baker worked for many years in the UK Space Industry before joining Kingston University in 2011. He leads the 3rd and 4th year modules 'Space Vehicle Design' and 'Space Mission Analysis', runs the Roehampton Vale Rocket Propulsion Lab, and supports the RV Rocket Propulsion Group, which develop students' practical skills related to rocket propulsion. Adam's research interests include access to space and the economics of satellite launch, and mechanical systems for spacecraft and low cost space missions. Outside of Kingston Adam works with a number of space businesses including Surrey Satellite Technology Ltd and Airbus Defence & Space, and runs small businesses dealing with rocket technology and space mission  operations.
