Dr Jarek Francik

Senior Lecturer

About

I am a graduate of the Silesian University of Technology in Poland, received my PhD from the University of Lille, France, and eventually moved to the UK to enhance my perspectives as a researcher and academic lecturer. Currently with Kingston University, London, I am a passionate lecturer in Games Development and Design, and a researcher in artificial intelligence, sensor technology and virtual reality. A fanatic of C++ and a wizard programmer, I have always found it easy to undertake industrial projects, which I think are the most valuable part of my academic activity apart from teaching. I have worked for a range of industries – from coal mining to education, where I achieved a major success publishing an acclaimed and awarded educational program – but most recently I have been working on sensing, simulation and 3D visualisation software for the elevator and escalator industry. When not programming, or gaming, or reading, I am probably out in some desolate spot, birdwatching.
