Mr Carl Clerkin

About

I joined Kingston University as a senior tutor in Product and Furniture Design in 2013 after teaching at a number of other institutions over the years. I have worked primarily with level 5 and 6 students and enjoy the challenge of developing live projects and briefs that allow our students to understand and experience the broader opportunities available to them as graduating designers.

As a fractional member of staff I am able to continue my practice as a designer on a number of exciting projects that include product development, exhibition design, public commissions and curating. Most recently I have co-curated "The Learned Society of Extra Ordinary Objects", an exhibition about design and real storytelling in The Terrace Rooms at Somerset House (2017).

Please Sit - an exhibition at Fenton House (National Trust) (2019)

Beasley Brothers Repair Shop - Eternally Yours - an exhibition on Repair Care and Healing at Somerset House (2002).

The Federation for Furniture Fanciers (SCPeep Show) SCP (2023)
