Will my studies at Kingston count towards my degree?

You are able to select classes that will meet major, minor or general education requirements at your home institution. It is your responsibility to:

  • establish course equivalencies
  • obtain agreement that your home institution will accept classes taken at Kingston and transfer the credits

We recommend that you obtain approval from your home institution at the time of applying to study at Kingston.  If needed, we can usually email you a full syllabus so that you can forward a copy to your advisor.

Getting things sorted out in advance will save you time, effort and possibly disappointment later on.

After you've arrived

Once at Kingston you should keep all module (class) guides and marked work to take back to your home college.

At the end of your semester or year of study, the Study Abroad Office will send a 'Certificate of Credits Earned' to your home institution. This details the classes you have taken, credit values and grades achieved.

US general education requirements

There are no classes specifically designed for meeting US general education requirements.

If you need to take a science class for general education, we do not advise doing so at Kingston as we have very few classes that are suitable.
