Teaching quality

All UK universities have independent assessments of their teaching quality. In 2010, Kingston University was assessed by the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) and awarded a judgement of Confidence (the highest outcome) in the quality and standards at Kingston University and provision delivered with collaborative partners.

In particular, the report highlighted the following as an example of good practice:
the University's use of liaison officers in supporting collaborative partners and the strengthening of this role since the last collaborative provision audit undertaken by the QAA.

Other recommendations

The national newspapers regularly praise Kingston University. For example:

  • in 2006, The Guardian ranked Kingston as the number one among the new universities in London
  • we were shortlisted for the Sunday Times University of the Year award in both 2004 and 2000
  • The Times† put us in its top 20 for teaching excellence
  • we regularly feature high up in the league tables of universities that newspapers draw up
