The Blackboard Mobile Learn app is designed to give you quick access to your StudySpace materials whenever you want and wherever you want. However, due to the nature of mobile devices, you may not be able to see all the content for your module exactly as you would see it on a desktop PC or Mac.

Which version do I need?

Depending on the device you own, you will need to download the Blackboard Mobile Learn app in the same way as you do any other mobile app:

  • iPhone (and iPod Touch and iPad) users can download the app from the App Store.
  • Android phone users can download the app from the Android Market.
  • Blackberry users can download the app from Blackberry App World.

What can I see using Blackboard Mobile Learn?

Depending on what your tutors have enabled for your modules and organisations, you will be able to access course documents, web links, images and video, discussion board forums and announcements in a format designed for the smaller screen of your mobile device.

Why can’t I see the material I need?

Two things affect what you can see on Blackboard Mobile Learn:

  • The ability of mobile devices to provide the variety of materials that may be included on your module eg. Apple devices using the mobile operating system do not support Flash.
  • Options that your tutors may have set so that only limited content is available through the app.

Also, you need to make sure that you Search For Your School to start the app by entering Kingston University into the text box.

Select the Kingston University link that appears and type in your Kingston University network username and password into the login box.

If you would like to read more about Blackboard Mobile Learn, you may find it useful to visit Blackboard’s own website at: http://www.blackboard.com/Platforms/Mobile/Products/Mobile-Learn.aspx.

I’ve tried all the above but it doesn’t seem to work on my device

Please log your query with our Service Desk providing as much detail as you can about the device you are using and the information you are trying to access. Due to the large number of different mobile devices in use, it may not be possible resolve your particular issue, but the staff will be able to run through some basic checks with you and also refer your query to the Blackboard support team.
