Kingston Eco-op Kingston Eco-op Association was launched in April 2009 in Kingston-upon-Thames. It is a social enterprise offering supported employment skills and training for disabled people and those at risk of social exclusion. The activities carried out often support the concept of sustainable development: furniture and cycle repair, recycling and repackaging, gardening etc. |

Transition Town Kingston Kingston was officially declared an official Transition initiative in May 2008, following the formation of the Steering Group. In October 2008, 6 action groups were formed and since then, they have been meeting on a regular basis and taking action on their group topic (Alliances, Business, Council, Knowledge Base, Media, Schools). Kingston Environment Centre Kingston Environment Centre is a hub for local community green groups in the borough of Kingston-Upon-Thames. Located between the town centre and Fairfield Park it makes it easy for Kingston University staff and students to pop by. Click here to read the full story. |

Kingston Freecycle Kingston Freecycle is part of the global Freecycle Network made up of 4,767 groups with 6,895,000 members across the world. It's a grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving (& getting) stuff for free in their own towns. It's all about reuse and keeping good stuff out of landfills. Kingston’s group is moderated by Jon Marks. Membership is free. |

KUTLETS KUTLETS (Kingston Upon Thames Local Exchange Trading System) is a community-based barter system. Members pool their skills and resources to form a local network, which allows them to trade goods and services without using money. Instead of using pounds and pence, KUTLETS has its own 'currency' called 'Beaks' (named after its old home at the Beacon Centre). It was started in 1991 and is one of over 200 similar systems around the country. |
