Transition Town Kingston

TTK stands for Transition Town Kingston. Kingston was officially declared an official Transition initiative in May 2008, following the formation of the Steering Group. In October 2008, 6 action groups were formed and since then, they have been meeting on a regular basis and taking action on their group topic (Alliances, Business, Council, Knowledge Base, Media, Schools).

TTK calling you

The core purpose of this initiative is to mobilise and facilitate community action in order to respond effectively and positively to climate change and peak oil and to create a world that uses less energy and fewer resources.

The main objectives are to:

- raise awareness in the Kingston Area of climate change and peak oil

- engage and build networks with people and groups already active with these issues

- provide a framework for an effective response to climate change and peak oil, including the creation and implementation of an Energy Descent Action Plan

- create visible practical projects that will reduce C02 emissions, reduce the dependency of our society on fossil fuels, and empower residents to participate.

For more information, visit the TTK website or email them.
